QIMA Monasterium is based in Münster, Germany, and specializes in pre-clinical and clinical services in dermatology for therapeutics, cosmeceutical, and nutraceutical applications, offering among other clinically relevant ex vivo and in vivo pre-clinical models and state-of-the-art techniques.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team and contribute to the smooth and efficient running of our laboratory operations. If you are organized, reliable, and interested in supporting scientific research, this position might be perfect for you!

The Role in Brief:

As a Laboratory Assistant, you will be responsible for carrying out essential organizational tasks that ensure our laboratory functions seamlessly. You will work under the guidance of an experienced Technical assistant to Laboratory manager and Laboratory Manager. Your role is crucial in maintaining the operational efficiency and upkeep of our laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Maintenance of Consumables/Storage: Keep track of laboratory supplies, ensuring that all necessary materials are available and properly stored.
  • Documentation and Archiving: Document data, manage deliveries, handle logistical and ordering tasks, and maintain accurate records.
  • General Organization and Cleaning: Perform smaller cleaning tasks and manage general laboratory organization, including waste management.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Take responsibility for the lab equipment for lab maintenance such as autoclaves, water ultra-purification systems, scales, and pH meters.
  • Preparation of Buffers and Solutions: Assist in the preparation of laboratory buffers and solutions according to standard protocols.

Requirements:

  • Language Skills: Proficiency in German (spoken and written) and basic knowledge of English, as the company language is English.
  • Technical Skills:  proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Work Ethic: Ability to work in a structured and independent manner, with a high sense of responsibility and organizational skills.
  • Team Player: Strong team and communication skills.
  • Reliability: High reliability and a trustworthy nature.
  • Flexibility: Capacity to adapt to different tasks and changing priorities.
  • Experience: Previous experience in biological research laboratories and familiarity with laboratory techniques is an advantage, but not required.
