Our Consumer Goods Division is dedicated to helping brands, retailers and manufacturers worldwide deliver safe, quality and ethically made products to their consumers. Every day at work, our inspectors, auditors, and lab techs use their expertise to help safeguard the products you use every day in your home: from clothes and footwear to toys and baby products, to electronics, appliances, and furniture.

We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Intern interested in global trade and supply chain.

Area: Continuous Improvement Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Support: Assist in the planning, execution, and follow-up of continuous improvement projects.
  • Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement. This may involve using tools like Excel, or other statistical software.
  • Process Mapping: Document and analyze current processes to identify areas for waste reduction and optimization.
  • Problem-Solving: Participate in problem-solving activities using methodologies like root cause analysis (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram) to identify and address underlying issues.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation related to continuous improvement projects, including process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate project updates, findings, and recommendations to team members and stakeholders.
  • Training & Learning: Actively participate in training sessions and workshops to develop knowledge and skills in continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Specific

  • Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field), Business Administration, or other relevant discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (essential).
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication in English and Spanish (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of statistical analysis is a plus.
